Ballerina, modella e attrice, la giovane Amelie Anstett ha ballato sul palco del “Purpose Tour” di Justin Bieber e in numerosi video musicali. Dal 2020 è nel cast della web serie “Chicken Girls” di Brat TV, interpretando il ruolo di Sadie.
Abbiamo avuto la possibilità di chiacchierare con Amelie Anstett, che ci ha parlato un po’ di più del suo mondo.
Ciao Amelie! Grazie per averci concesso questa intervista. Iniziamo subito: hai ballato per il “Purpose Tour” di Justin Bieber, ma come è iniziata la tua carriera?
Ciao! Grazie per questa opportunità. Tutto è iniziato quando avevo dodici anni e ho ballato sul palco con Justin Bieber. Quel momento ha cambiato la mia vita per sempre e mi ha permesso di realizzare quali fossero le mie vere passioni. C’era un concorso che prevedeva l’invio di un video su Youtube e io ho mandato un mio self-tape su una coreografia di Nick Demoura. Un paio di settimane dopo, ho ricevuto una mail che diceva che ero stata scelta: è stato uno dei momenti più surreali della mia vita.
Nella serie di Brat TV, “Chicken Girls”, interpreti Sadie. Puoi dirci qualcosa in più del tuo personaggio?
Ho il grande onore di interpretare Sadie, la fidanzata di TK (interpretato da Hyden Summerall) nella serie. Sadie è del Texas, quindi è una cowgirl con una forte personalità. Direi che è una country girl molto femminile e sicura di sé, e non ha paura di esprimere i suoi sentimenti in qualsiasi occasione.
La recitazione per te è una sfida. Come la stai affrontando? Preferisci ballare o recitare?
Ho scoperto la mia passione per la recitazione quando mi sono trovata a Los Angeles, a 15 anni. Era tutto molto nuovo per me, molti casting directors mi chiedevano se mi sarebbe piaciuto recitare, ed è stato così che ho deciso che ci avrei provato. Amo ballare e recitare allo stesso modo, ed entrambe sono due mie grandi passioni. Tuttavia, la danza è quello con cui ho iniziato, quindi avrà sempre un posto speciale nel mio cuore.
Hai qualcosa in comune con Sadie, il tuo personaggio?
Il suo essere sicura di sé ed estroversa. Oltre quello, però, non abbiamo molto in comune nella vita reale. Proprio per questo interpretare una “mean girl” è divertente, dato che è molto diversa da come sono io nella vita reale.
Quando non sei sul set o sul palco, come passi le tue giornate? Chi è Amelie Anstett quando non è sotto i riflettori?
Quando non giro o non mi alleno sono una normale teenager che va in spiaggia, esce con gli amici, fa shopping. Penso che l’equilibrio tra il lavoro e la vita reale sia molto importante.
Hai qualche progetto in arrivo?
Certo, sto lavorando su alcuni nuovi progetti. In realtà stavo girando alcune novità poco prima che il lockdown iniziasse, quindi sono attualmente in pausa, come tutto. Non vedo l’ora di poter condividere con tutti ciò su cui ho lavorato. Ho anche fatto squadra con la mia charity preferita, “Elev8hope”, per diffondere consapevolezza del problema dei senzatetto e per fare un cambiamento nella nostra comunità.

Hi Amelie! Thank you for giving us this interview. You’ve been a dancer for Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour. How did it all started?
Hi, thank you so much for having me! It all started with big break into the entertainment industry was when I was 12 years old and danced on stage with Justin Bieber. That moment changed my life forever and allowed me to really see my true passion and calling. There was a YouTube submission contest, and I submitted a self-tape of one of Nick Demoura’s dances. A few weeks later, we received the email saying I had been chosen. It was one of the most surreal moments of my life.
You are playing Sadie, one of the protagonists in the Brat’s series “Chicken Girls”. Can you tell us more about your character?
Yes of course, I have the great honor of playing Sadie, TK (Hayden Summerall’s) girlfriend in the show, and man, does she have a personality on her. She comes from Texas, so she is a cowgirl. Getting to play her is so much fun. She is a country girly girl that is very confident/sassy, and she is not afraid to express her feelings whatsoever .
Acting is a challenge for you. How are you facing it? Do you prefer acting or dancing?
I really found a passion for acting when I started coming out to LA when I was about 15 years old. It was all very new to me, however a lot of casting directors, and other individuals would ask me if I could act, and that’s when I really decided to hop into it. I love dance and acting equally and they are both huge passions of mine. However, dance is how I started so it will always have a super special place in my heart.
Is there something you have in common with Sadie?
Other than her confidence and outgoingness, my character “Sadie” and I really don’t share a lot in common in real life at all. But getting to play a mean girl is honestly so fun because it is so different from who I am in real life.
When you are not on set or on stage, how do you spend your days? Who is Amelie when she is not under flashing lights?
When I am not filming or training I love balancing my life being a normal teen going to the beach, hanging out with friends, shopping etc.. I think balance is super important.
Do you have some upcoming projects?
Yeah, I am working on some really fun new projects, and I was actually shooting a few of them right as the lockdown started, so they went on hold. But everyone is on the lookout. I can’t wait to share with everyone soon what I have been working on. I have also teamed up with my favorite charity Elev8hope to spread awareness for silent homelessness and to make a change in our community/world and it has been absolutely amazing.
